SAFETY TIPS

YOUR SAFETY IS A CORE VALUE OF OUR BUSINESS

  1. Plan every job and think about what could go wrong
  2. Use the right tools for the job
  3. Treat all electrical equipment as alive and can cause hazard
  4. Do not overload electrical outlets. It could damage the electrical system in your house or even cause a fire
  5. Never use electric equipment if your hands or feet are wet or on a wet surface
  6. Avoid climbing trees that are near or in contact with power lines. The electricity can go right through the tree branch – and right through you
  7. Electrical substations/lines are dangerous. Never allow children to play near them
  8. Treat de-energized electrical equipment and conductors as energized until lockout/tag out, test, and ground procedures (where appropriate) are implemented
  9. De-energize and visibly guard (where possible) whenever contact with uninsulated overhead power lines is possible
  10. Use procedures, drawings, and other documents to do the job
  11. Isolate equipment from energy sources
  12. Identify the electric shock and arc flash, as well as other hazards that may be present
  13. Minimize hazards by guarding or establishing approach limitations
  14. Test every circuit and every conductor every time before you touch it
  15. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as a last line of defense in case something goes wrong
  16. Be sure you are properly trained and qualified for the job
  17. Check and double check safety regulations when a ladder or parts of any vehicle or mechanical equipment structure will be elevated near energized overhead power lines
