Why don't we have steady/regular power supply?

Due to overloading on your distribution transformer.

How can I get a prepaid meter?

Under the new NERC Regulations; meters can be purchased (MAP) by declaring interest at any of our Customer Care Unit.

How do I deal with Non reflection of full payment on my bill?

There is a possibility of payment after bills were generated. It will certainly reflect on the next bill. Secondly, customers are highly encouraged to make payment directly in our cash offices and customers should always ask for receipt.

How do I get fair billing (I live in a 1 room apartment)?

Subscribe for a meter during MAP at our CCU offices. Customers should ensure that they are enumerated and load assessment is done.

Why do we have constant load shed in our community?

The transformer could be overloaded possibly by illegal consumers. Therefore, report all illegal consumers around by calling our whistle blowing lines.

Why are we contributing money to repair faulty DTs?

It is not your duty to repair DTs. It is the responsibility of your disco (service provider), however, if due to financial challenges JED Plc cannot restore the DT, customers should indicate intent to contribute by writing to JED Plc and coming to agreement of terms.

In a situation whereby I am disconnected by the company, who takes custody of the cable wires removed?

The customer should be in custody of the wire, but if involved in illegal reconnections, JED PLC staff will have to take it for safe keeps. 

I used to pay N1,000 for reconnection fees but now I'm told to pay N1,500. Why?

Reconnection fees have been reviewed, thus; R2 – N1,500. 

 

Why do I get disconnected without notice?

Disconnection can be done at the instance without notice if it’s discovered that a customer was illegally connected or there is an outstanding debt on your bill.

As a prepaid customer if my light is faulty, what do I do?

Make a report to customer care unit in any JED PLC offices nearest to you.

Can I call my local electrician to repair my faulty transformer or energy pole?

No, kindly notify JED Plc through any communication channels to enable us clear the fault.

How do I know my actual amount billed?

Refer to the current bill and check the current total charge to know your actual bill. To know your outstanding balance, check the total outstanding on the bill.
