TROUBLE SHOOTING COMMON ERRORS ON THE PREPAID METERS

 

MOJEC COMMON ERRORS POSSIBLE CAUSES TROUBLESHOOT
A.

My meter displays “Link Error” when I tried to recharge or check my balance.

The meter displays the link error whenever there is no communication between the meter and the U.I.U

  • Pairing of the meter and the UIU should be as follows;

  • Type in 5258 follow by the fifth number on the customer’s card to the twelfth number making the total of 12 digits and press the blue key. Leaving out the first four and the last one number.

  • First connect the small box (UIU) to any functional socket and switch on the supply, then query the UIU with 01 and press the blue key to get your energy balance.

  • Make sure you switch your change-over switch from Generator to JED supply before carrying out any operation.

  • If the unit on the meter finished, ensure you use new/strong batteries to power the small box then connect it to any functional socket before recharging.

  • Ensure the credit light comes ON before typing in the purchased energy

IF THE PROBLEM PERSIST, REPORT TO THE NEAREST JED PLC OFFICE.

B.

I am experiencing high consumption in my meter.

High consumption can be caused by many factors, Such as Poor Earthing/Leakage, Substandard/undersized wiring Cables.

Report to the nearest JED Plc office.

C.

My meter displays “Used” when I tried to load my energy token.

These indicate that the purchased energy had already been USED on the same meter.

Check your energy balance for confirmation OR Report to the nearest JED PLC OFFICE.

D.

My meter is giving me over voltage.

 

 

If supply voltage is slightly higher than the normal voltage, the supply will cut-off automatically (with units on the meter) to prevent damage on customer’s load.

Report to JED CCU for assistance.

E.

There is no display on my meter LCD.

 

 

When the polarity of the incomer is interchanged, meter is likely not going to be displaying on the LCD, and in some time no output.

Report to JED CCU for assistance.

F.

I am experiencing low voltage.

 

Possibly the meter is on Tamper, the unit balance is very low OR the system line voltage is Low.

Check your balance OR Report to JED CCU for assistance.

G.

My meter displays “cut-off”.

 

 

The meter displays “CUT-OFF” when there Is an automatic breakage of supply from the meter, the meter relay opens at any abnormal power surge.

Use this code 7777 (Mojec) and send with the blue key to restore supply. If the problem persist, report to the nearest JED PLC OFFICE.

H.

I have unit in my meter but there is no supply to my premises.

 

 

Meter possibly on Tamper Mode, Relay Open OR Breaker Tripped off.

Use this code 7777 for Mojec & 0000 for Huawei Meter. If the problem persist, report to the nearest JED PLC Office.

I.

My meter displays error -06.

 

 

When you type in the correct twenty digit number from the energy purchased receipt. Note any number below twenty; the UIU will display ERROR -06.

Check the vending receipt carefully to avoid mistake at the process OR Report to the nearest JED PLC Office around you.

J.

How can I connect to JED PLC service?

Nil.

  • Walk into the nearest JED PLC Office and pick a new service connection form. You can also download the new service form from our website homepage.

  • Return a complete filled form with a Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN) Certification and attach Proof of Ownership/tenancy agreement.
