ENERGY MANAGEMENT TIPS

 CONSERVE ENERGY, SAVE MONEY

  1. Ensure you change your home lighting system (bulb) to energy savings bulb
  2. Ensure you switch off all appliances and lightning point when leaving home
  3. Ensure you turn off your security light (bulb) in the day time
  4. Ensure that you turn off your TV set and sound system when and where necessary when you are not watching or using it
  5. Do not leave your water heater to be overheating when the water is hot for usage
  6. Always check for electrical leakages within your building premises
  7. Ensure that you regulate the usage of your thermostat based on temperature or weather condition
  8. Ensure that you have proper earthing system in your building/house
  9. Ensure you change your electrical appliances from energy consuming equipment to energy saving equipment
  10. Set your refrigerator temperature to the manufacturer’s recommendation to avoid excessive cooling and energy waste
  11. Don’t leave bathroom or kitchen ventilation fans running longer than necessary
  12. Ensure that you purchase washing machine with less energy consumption capacity
  13. Always buy refrigerator/fridge with a good energy consumption efficiency
  14. Ensure your chimney is seal properly with a damper to avoid waste of energy inform of heat
  15. Use a Programmable Thermostat if possible to auto adjust the temperature based on whether the space is occupied or not
  16. Learn to Turn-Off Charging appliances (like phone or computer) when fully charged to avoid energy wastage
  17. Get a shower head with a drip feature. These shower heads drip instead of running continuously while you’re lathering up with soap
  18. Employ the use of Light Dimmers to adjust the brightness of your light as you need which can reduced the waste energy
  19. Use ceiling fan if necessary to reduce the energy consumption by air conditioner
  20. Install energy efficient windows
  21. Reduce your water heating expenses
  22. Purchase energy efficient appliances
  23. Adjust your day-to-day behaviors
  24. Always recycle old electronics with energy efficient ones
  25. Always check your energy consumption for efficient regulation of usage
  26. Don’t use more energy than you need
  27. Make sure you insulate your roof or ceiling. This will help in keeping your home at pleasant temperature
